Valorization of the Rrom community with the creation of fictitious bank notes issued by the equally fictitious « Transnational Rrom Bank”
The Rrom people is manifestly ostracized from European societies. Any information or action linked to them leads this group to exclusion or withdrawal, and is disinformation essentially based on rumor and a set of clichés unrelated to their true history.
The aim of this research project from a Geneva HEAD team partnering with the Chemins de Traverse association is to try to create a new means of communication, in which members of the Rrom community become actors through exchange and discussion. The communication tool we offer them is the availability of Rrom bank notes, which are actually information leaflets linked to a website. They contain both historical and current information on the Rrom people.
